yuki sinclair
BFA MA MA
Born in 1960 in Japan, Yuki Sinclair has been involved in the fine arts for much of her life. Her upbringing in Tokyo included study of the koto (traditional stringed instrument) and the pursuit of ikebana and the art of tea. Following high school in New York State, Yuki studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, graduating in 1984 with a BFA. She additionally holds postgraduate degrees in the fields of linguistics (MA. tesol) and fine art (MA. studio art). Her work has been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions internationally. With a strong dedication to teaching, she has been awarded visiting artist opportunities at a number of art schools at home and abroad. With a passion for figurative exploration, a commitment to gender studies, and a curiousity for east|west relationships, Yuki’s work is complex in meaning, bold in expression, and rich in color.
